1. What this notice covers

Websites and embedded services can store or access information using cookies, local storage, session storage, IndexedDB, service-worker cache storage and provider SDKs. CookSocket uses the phrase cookies and similar technologies to cover these mechanisms rather than describing every stored value as a traditional cookie.

2. Necessary and functional use

CookSocket currently uses browser and SDK storage for necessary or functional purposes: to provide authentication and security, remember this notice, preserve a selected discovery location, continue an intended destination after authentication, recover an order or payment attempt, and support notifications that a user has chosen to enable.

3. CookSocket browser storage

CookSocket-controlled storage currently includes a cookie-notice acknowledgement, an identifier for a selected saved address, a Web push device identifier and routing role, short-lived authentication-destination data, and short-lived order or payment-recovery references. Push routing may also use service-worker cache storage. These values support the requested feature and do not contain a raw card number or card security code.

4. Authentication and Firebase

Firebase Authentication and related Firebase services may use SDK-managed browser storage to maintain authentication, security, Remote Config and notification functionality. Firebase Cloud Messaging is loaded only for supported notification functionality, and browser notification permission is requested through the relevant user action.

5. Stripe payments

When payment or saved-payment-method features are used, Stripe.js and secure Stripe frames may store or access technical information needed to prevent fraud, display payment controls, confirm a payment or save an eligible payment method. Stripe handles sensitive card entry; CookSocket does not receive raw card numbers or card security codes.

6. Location and Google Maps

CookSocket stores the identifier of a selected saved address as a functional preference. Browser coordinates are requested only after an explicit current-location action. When a Google Maps preview is displayed, Google may receive the Listing location and process technical information under its own terms and privacy practices.

7. Analytics and advertising

The current CookSocket Web code does not contain an active Web analytics SDK, advertising pixel, Meta Pixel, personalised-advertising integration or marketing campaign tracker. The notice therefore does not offer analytics or advertising switches that would have no effect. If CookSocket introduces non-essential technologies later, this notice and the consent controls must be updated before or when those technologies are enabled.

8. Your controls

The CookSocket notice currently records that you have read the necessary and functional technology information; it does not claim to switch optional advertising or analytics tools on or off. You can clear site data using your browser settings, revoke notification or location permissions, remove saved payment methods through the available account controls, or sign out. Clearing necessary storage may sign you out or prevent transaction-recovery and preference features from working as expected.

9. Third-party services

Stripe, Google Maps and Firebase may apply their own technologies when the relevant service is used. Social sign-in also opens the selected Apple, Google or Facebook provider. Those providers control their own sites and services. A further legal review is required to determine whether any functional third-party technology needs an additional consent mechanism in a particular jurisdiction.

10. Changes and contact

We will update this notice if the technologies or purposes used by CookSocket change. Questions about cookies and similar technologies can be sent to privacy@cooksocket.com or support@cooksocket.com.
