Account and data deletion
This page describes CookSocket’s account-deletion request process. It does not promise immediate removal of every record because some information may need to be retained or processed differently for legal, transaction, safety or operational reasons.

1. Submit a request
An authenticated user can request account deletion from the Account controls in the CookSocket website or the corresponding account area in the app. The website asks you to type DELETE before submitting the request. If you cannot access your account, contact support@cooksocket.com using the email address associated with it.
2. Active baskets and upcoming orders
CookSocket may prevent a deletion request while the account has a basket containing items or an active or upcoming order. You may need to complete, cancel or otherwise resolve those transactions first so that payment, fulfilment, safety and support obligations can be handled correctly.
3. What happens after submission
After an eligible request is accepted, CookSocket records a scheduled deletion state and begins restricting or archiving certain account resources. The website also attempts to remove the user’s Firebase authentication account and otherwise signs the user out. As a result, you should expect to lose access to the account and should not rely on being able to restore it through the website.
4. Information that may be archived, deleted or anonymised
Depending on the record and applicable requirements, CookSocket may archive, delete or anonymise profile information, saved addresses, baskets, Listings, menu or product information, uploaded media, notification records, messages, reviews and other account-linked content. Records are handled according to their category and are not necessarily erased at the same time.
5. Information we may need to retain
CookSocket may retain limited order, payment, refund, dispute, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, safety, support, legal or regulatory records where retention is necessary or permitted. Public or transaction-linked content may be retained in archived or anonymised form where appropriate. Access to retained information is restricted according to its purpose.
6. Third-party services
Removing a CookSocket account does not delete your Apple, Google, Facebook, bank or card-provider account. Stripe and other providers may retain transaction or compliance records under their own legal obligations. Where CookSocket controls provider records that should be removed or disconnected, those records must be handled as part of the applicable deletion process.
7. Privacy rights and contact
Account deletion is separate from other privacy rights, such as access, correction, restriction, objection or portability where applicable. The right to erasure is not absolute and lawful retention duties may apply. Contact privacy@cooksocket.com for a privacy request or support@cooksocket.com for help with account access and deletion.
