Payment journey
From customer payment to bank payout
Payment success and bank payout are separate events. No single date can be promised because settlement, payout schedules, verification and bank processing can all affect timing.
- 1
Payment successful
The customer’s payment has been processed.
- 2
Funds processing
The payment is undergoing settlement.
- 3
Funds available
The funds are available for payout according to the provider’s rules.
- 4
Bank payout
The provider sends eligible funds to the host’s connected bank account.

Online payments and payouts in the United Kingdom
Stripe processes an eligible customer online payment and records the funds in the kitchen’s connected payout account.
A successful customer payment still needs to settle before the funds become available for payout. Availability timing can vary by account, transaction and provider checks.
Available funds are sent according to the connected account’s payout schedule. A first payout can take longer while account or bank details are verified.
Weekends, bank holidays, verification requests and the receiving bank can affect when money arrives. The date funds become available and the date they reach the bank can differ.
Where to check your payout
On iOS, go to Profile → Account → Payments → Payouts → Manage payout account. Eligible connected accounts can use Stripe Express to review balances, upcoming payouts, expected arrival information and any verification tasks.
Secure payments with Stripe
CookSocket uses Stripe, a trusted global payment infrastructure provider, to securely process online payments for eligible UK kitchens.
Secure payment processing
Customer card payments are processed using Stripe’s secure payment technology. Stripe uses encryption, tokenisation and industry-standard security measures to protect sensitive payment information.
Industry-standard security
Stripe is certified as a PCI DSS Level 1 service provider, the highest PCI service-provider certification level.
Secure host payouts
Hosts securely set up and manage their payout accounts through Stripe. Payment balances, verification requirements and payout information can be reviewed through Stripe Express.
Trusted payment infrastructure
Stripe provides payment technology to established global platforms, including Deliveroo, Uber and Airbnb. CookSocket uses Stripe to process eligible UK online payments and facilitate host payouts.
These companies use different Stripe services. Their relationships with Stripe do not imply endorsement of CookSocket or identical payout arrangements.
Payment transparency
A successful customer payment does not mean funds have already reached the host’s bank account. Payment settlement and bank payouts follow separate processing schedules.
Stripe processes eligible CookSocket payments, but payout timing and availability depend on the connected account, applicable payment terms and banking processes.
Understanding your payments and earnings
CookSocket platform fees, payment processing fees and the amount paid to your bank are related, but they are not the same.
CookSocket platform fees
0% CookSocket commission — Free to get started
CookSocket is currently free for hosts to use, with no monthly subscription fee or CookSocket platform commission.
Our goal is to help local kitchens and food businesses manage their operations, receive orders and grow their customer base without additional platform charges.
Payment processing fees, where applicable, are separate from CookSocket platform fees.
If our pricing changes in the future, we will communicate this clearly in advance so hosts can make an informed decision.
Payment processing fees
Online payments are handled by the payment provider. Payment processing fees are separate from CookSocket’s platform commission.
Whether these fees are covered by CookSocket or deducted from a host’s earnings depends on the applicable payment arrangement.
Your earnings
Your order and payment records determine the amount allocated to your kitchen. The amount available in your Stripe account and the amount paid to your bank may be shown at different stages.

Frequently asked questions
Why haven’t I received my payment?
First check whether the customer payment succeeded, whether the funds have finished processing, and whether a bank payout has been created. Verification requests, payout schedules, weekends, bank holidays, bank processing and failed bank details can all affect timing. Payment success does not mean the money has already reached your bank.
What is the difference between funds available and money deposited into my bank?
Available funds have completed the provider’s settlement process and are eligible for payout. A bank deposit is a later step: the provider has sent a payout and the receiving bank has credited it. Those dates can be different.
Why can my first payout take longer?
A provider may need to complete initial account, identity or bank verification and apply its first-payout controls. Timing varies, so CookSocket cannot promise a fixed first-payout date.
How do weekends and bank holidays affect payouts?
Settlement or bank processing can pause or take longer on non-business days. A payout expected near a weekend or bank holiday may arrive on a later banking day, depending on the provider and receiving bank.
Where can I check my payout status?
On iOS, go to Profile → Account → Payments → Payouts → Manage payout account. Eligible connected accounts can use Stripe Express to review balances, upcoming payouts, expected arrival information and any verification tasks.
How are CookSocket commissions and payment processing fees handled?
CookSocket platform commission and payment-provider processing fees are separate amounts. Your final earnings are the amount remaining after the applicable commission, provider fees and any authoritative adjustments shown for the transaction. Rates and commercial models can vary by country and account, so this page does not publish a universal percentage.
What happens if a payout fails?
The payment provider may return the payout and request updated bank or verification details before another payout can be attempted. Review the status and any required action in the available payout-management area, or contact CookSocket support if you cannot resolve it.
